PREA Coordinator

The primary responsibilities of the PREA Coordinator are to:

  • Develop, implement and oversee the agency’s plan to comply with the PREA standards.
  • Ensure key information is readily available or visible to all offenders through the PREA posters, and brochures on sexual abuse/ harassment.
  • Monitor agency efforts to eliminate the occurrence of sexual abuse and sexual harassment;
  • Review agency policies and procedures to ensure they are in compliance with PREA standards;
  • Respond to public inquiries related to allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment;
  • Ensure all notifications were made regarding an incident of sexual abuse.
  • Ensure victims, and witnesses who report sexual abuse or sexual harassment are not retaliated against.
