Leaders Take Part in Year-Long Training Program

Heartland Center has engaged the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at UMKC’s Bloch School of Management in Kansas City to provide a year-long leadership and management development training. A group of select Heartland leaders are provided monthly training grounded in and built upon advanced behavioral healthcare practices. They are provided an opportunity to discuss leadership and management challenges and given tools to strengthen their abilities.

Dr. David Renz, Director of the Center, leads the highly interactive and involvement-based approach to learning using a mix of personal inventories, self-assessment tools, active dialogue and discussion and interactive case study experiences.

“We want to equip our leaders to meet the challenges of an evolving healthcare environment,” said Myrna Trickey, Heartland Center President and CEO. “The Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership is a nationally recognized provider of high quality, practical and theoretical leadership and management development. We feel privileged to have Dr. Renz work with Heartland’s leadership team.”

The training program is intended to build upon Heartland Center’s commitment to providing quality care in a challenging new business climate.
