Corrections Training Technician/PREA Coordinator

This is responsible, mid-level, professional training and administrative work for a community based offender reentry program of substantial scope and complexity. The Training Technician/PREA Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing and conducting orientation, OJT and in-service training and performing Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) coordination for programs funded by the State Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons and subject to PREA regulations. An employee of this class is expected to use initiative and work independently under the general supervision of a superior.

The successful candidate must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; plus four (4) or more years of professional or technical experience in a business, governmental, or military setting, where the primary duties involved formal classroom training, training course design and development, and/or curriculum planning; professional teaching experience at the high school level or above; and/or educational administration involving responsibility for curriculum planning and the supervision of teaching staff.
Education may be substituted year for year by having worked in a position of training/teaching listed above in addition to the required four (4) years professional work experience.
