RECRUITER/HR GENERALIST

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position will focus on recruitment, establishing relationships with organizations to promote candidate sourcing, applicant tracking and onboarding. Other generalist duties may include, but are not limited to, benefit administration and HRIS maintenance and management.

Successful candidate will have a four year degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or will have 6-10 years of relevant experience. Experience with Affirmative Action Plans and OFCCP reporting is highly desired. This individual must have a passion for serving in a non-profit setting, and preferably will have experience in the field of healthcare.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Work may include, but is limited to, the following examples:

Interprets and implements HR policies and procedures as established by superiors.

Serves as main custodian of human resource records.

Maintains HRIS system with complete, accurate and current data.

Assists employees who have questions about benefits, worker’s compensation, FMLA, policies, and other related human resources’ issues.

Coordinates recruitment and hiring process.

Orients new employees in general agency procedures

Coordinates performance evaluation processes

Initiates and prepares reports as required by law to such agency’s as worker’s compensation, unemployment office, EEOC, insurers, etc.

Maintains records of applicants and results of interview processes.

Maintains records of all authorized positions and job descriptions. Assigns job description numbers when employees are hired.

Coordinates orientation training and in-service training events.

Maintains official attendance records of employees and inputs into automated database.

Reports human resource issues to superior.

Independently prepares regular written reports regarding HR activities.

Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor

Participates in training and meetings.

Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic.

Considerable knowledge of human resources concepts, techniques, and principles.

Ability to work independently with a minimum of instruction.

Ability to maintain confidential records and information.

Ability to understand and apply agency policies and procedures.

Ability to prepare and maintain complex records.

Ability to implement involved clerical procedures from general instructions.

Ability to work and communicate effectively with employees and general public.

Skill in keyboarding and use of personal computer.

Skill in organizing work to meet deadlines.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

 

High school diploma or equivalent AND

Minimum 6-10 years of experience in field of human resources

OR

Four year college degree with 2 years relevant experience
