He/She is responsible for preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and statements, including supporting workpapers, preparation and analysis of various financial information and application of accounting principles and procedures to ensure appropriate accounting controls. This position is expected to work independently, under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.


Work may include, but is not limited to, the following examples:
1. Remains alert during working hours; attends work as scheduled and complies with attendance policies.
2. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annually.
3. Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
4. Prepare financial reports for management.
5. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, and year end close of accounting systems.
6. Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
7. Maintain and reconcile grants receivables by program.
8. Issues payments to vendors and maintains vendor files.
9. Issues electric payments for health insurance, employee pension and payroll tax liabilities on a timely basis.
10. Maintains necessary fiscal reports and records.


  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
  • Knowledge of and experience in standard computer applications, (word, excel)
  • Knowledge of payroll, payroll tax calculation, payroll processing, payroll tax liabilities, and payroll check preparation

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or related field


  • Two (2) years’ experience with management of accounting systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis.


  • Successful work experience in using the Sage ACCPAC general ledger system or similar software is required.
